CIT Forms and Applications

Application Process

The application window is October 1 through November 15. Any applications received before October 1 will be returned unopened and can be resubmitted during the application window. Applications received after November 15 will be considered in the order they were received and placed in the CIT sessions as space allows. Incomplete applications will not be considered until they are complete; applicants will be notified about any missing information. CIT applicants will be notified of their status by December 15.

CJL campers who are eligible for the CIT program will automatically receive an application packet in the mail around mid-August. The forms and instructions are also provided below.

Selection Process

First-Year CITs: Each CIT session has 12 slots reserved for first year CITs. All complete and satisfactory applications received during the October 1 to November 15 window will be considered equally. If there are more completed applications received by November 15 than there are spaces for first year CITs, there will be a lottery to determine who receives the spots. Those not selected in the lottery will be offered a spot in the other CIT session if space is available, or placed on a waiting list. If the spots reserved for second year CITs are not filled, then those spots will be made available to prospective first year CITs.

Second-Year CITs: Each CIT session has 13 slots reserved for second year CITs. If there are more completed and satisfactory applications received by November 15 than there are spaces for second year CITs, the CITs will be chosen based on their first year CIT recommendation. Those not selected will be offered a spot in the other CIT session if space is available, or placed on a waiting list. If the spots reserved for first year CITs are not filled, then those spots will be made available to prospective second year CITs.
