Allison was introduced to CJL at a very young age, accompanying her parents at work weekends and reunions until she was able to come to Camp on her own in 1992. She graduated the CIT program and promptly joined staff as a unit counselor in 2002. In the years since, Allison has served CJL in the summers as a unit counselor, unit leader, ropes course director, program director, CIT director, and assistant director. She was CJL's first Recruiter from 2008 - 2011. Additionally, Allison sits on the Camp Committee and chairs CJL's Parent-Daughter and Scholarship Committees.
Allison has a BS in Psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South in Tennessee and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbus State University. Since 2011, due to her husband's military service, Allison has lived in Alaska, Virginia (twice!), Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, and Germany. Allison currently resides in Kansas (again) with her husband Austin, two children (one hopefully a future camper!), and two cats. She works as a grant writer and grants manager for the United Methodist Youth Home in Evansville, Indiana. Outside of her job, parenting, and CJL duties, Allison enjoys reading, hiking, board games, keeping up with her CJL friends, and spending time with kitties awaiting their forever homes at the Fort Leavenworth shelter.
