Support CJL
Thank you for your interest in making a tax deductible donation to Camp Juliette Low! Your donation will help secure the longevity of Camp Juliette Low so that we may continue providing girls with outdoor experiences that promote leadership and self-confidence.
There are four funds to which you can designate your donation. Click the links to donate online, or mail a check to CJL (summer and winter addresses are in the footer, below). Please indicate the fund on the memo line of your check.
Endowment Fund – CJL is working to build the Endowment Fund, which will provide income for the ongoing financial future of the camp and its nonprofit purpose. You may be familiar with this idea because universities and colleges also use endowment funds. Our goal is to bank one million dollars by CJL’s 100th anniversary in 2022. Interest from the fund may be reinvested or used in cases of emergency.
CJL Alumnae Association Fund– The money collected during reunion goes into the Alumnae Association Fund. First, the fund is used to pay for the fall and spring CaJuLo newsletter mailings. Then, any excess funds are spent on specific purchases for camp, usually for program areas and/or for the staff. For example, last season, the Alumnae Association voted to purchase an umbrella for the pool to help relieve the heat stress on the lifeguards.
David Laney Scholarship Fund—Our scholarship fund is in the early stages of growth and will be used to fund camper scholarships to Camp Juliette Low. The intent is to use the interest generated by this fund’s principal amount to pay for yearly scholarships.
General Operating Fund—Any donations to CJL that are not designated for a specific purpose usually go into the general operating fund. This is the fund used for day to day operating expenses: electric bills, food expenses, payroll, program equipment, etc.
In addition, you can make a donation in-kind to CJL. Please contact the camp office (info@cjl.org) if you have items to donate. Every year, camp needs the following items:
- construction paper
- white copy paper
- white poster board
- small propane cylinders for Coleman lanterns (16.4 oz)
- hornet and wasp spray
- Clorox wipes
- hot mitts (for campfire cooking)
- children’s boots for horseback riding (sizes 12-6, used are fine)
- goggles for the pool
- brooms
Camp will often have special fundraisers for specific items, such as the new dock in 2002, a new sailboat in 2011, and a silent auction benefitting the Endowment Fund in 2012.
Please consider remembering CJL in your will. Contact camp to find out more information.
As always, we greatly appreciate your support!
